100 DAYS COUNTDOWN CARDS

My mom loved her cards. She had her on-duty nurse pick one out and hang it for her each day.

The 100 DAYS cards brought life, whimsy, and meaning to each of those days. My husband strung the clothesline and each day we’d go ”fishing” for a new card to add to our collection. The variety made it so much fun. The doctors & nurses enjoyed them … it became their adventure too. What a HAPPY way to track a long and not always happy process!

I have enjoyed doing the 100 DAYS Countdown Cards while I have been hospitalized. I find them very unique, colorfully illustrated, and an inspirational bright spot everyday. Please continue to pass these cards to other patients in order to help them with their journeys.

HEART TO HEART CARDS

These cards offer a productive way to engage in conversation with both an individual and a group. I appreciate including funny questions and remarks with more serious questions. This allows children and teens to maintain focus rather than losing their attention.

HELLO, HOPE! CARDS

Having been a child who lost a sibling, I really feel drawn to these cards and envision myself as a kid using them. I had no resources 20+ years ago and these would have really helped me.

WHiCH ONE? CARDS

STARTER SET

These cards are a great distraction tool. And they are small enough to fit in my pocket for a quick go to.

I love these choices! They make me think!

Besides using them for procedural distraction, these are great conversation starters. I find I use these with my kids at home, too!

I love the WHiCH ONE? cards. Personally, it’s one of my favorite go-to’s for procedures. I remember I used them with one girl in particular in a clinic visit and she LOVED them. It helped distract her completely and her and dad got super silly answering some of the questions. Completely took her mind off of the procedure and what the doctor was doing and helped me build rapport with her during that visit.

Since I work in an alternative setting and do not necessarily do distraction like child life specialists do in the hospital, I use these cards in a different way. Working as a child life specialist in families’ homes, there is a great opportunity for therapeutic play. I have found that these cards to be great for conversation and to promote decision-making. It is fun to have a conversation about something else than the hospital to open the door to a trusting relationship!
